Epic Games has announced the launch of its own game store. The share of developers is 88%
The authors of Fortnite have announced the imminent launch of their own store. It will be called Epic Games Store. The company spoke in detail about its features.
Developers will receive 88% of sales
The share of Epic Games from sales in the new game store will be 12%.
The remaining 88% will be received by developers. Moreover, if the project is developed on Unreal Engine 4, then this 12% will also include 5% that the team must pay for using the engine.
Players will subscribe to push when buying the game.
Any player who purchases the game automatically subscribes to the developer’s news feed. Thanks to this, teams will be able to inform them about their new projects and upcoming updates. If a player has shared his mailbox, then it will be possible to inform him about the innovations by email.
Influencers will be able to get a share from sales
If the developers want, they can connect to the Epic Games Support-A-Creator program. The latter allows you to share with bloggers the revenue that was left in the game by the users they brought.
No cross-advertising on the game pages
All content that is on the page of a particular game is regulated exclusively by its developer/publisher. There will be no advertising of other games and a selection of similar competitive products on it.
There will be no restrictions on the engine used
Epic Games will launch games developed on any engine on its platform. The company will also be happy with Unity projects.
Sergey Galenkin took part in the development of the project
As Sergey Galenkin, the author of the Steam Spy service, noted on his Twitter page, this is a project he has been working on at Epic Games for the past few years.
Here is a thing I’ve been working on for the past several years :) Extremely happy we’re finally announcing it!https://t.co/O0bVaiKdOH
