Pochta Bank will invest more than 10 million rubles in esports and open a website for gamers
49% owned by the Russian Post, the bank became interested in the gaming audience. The organization plans to attract 100,000 new customers within this niche by the end of 2019. To do this, she took up investments in domestic esports.
“The gaming audience in Russia is 50 million people, the core audience and fans of esports are about 12 million people. According to some studies, gamers’ spending on games is growing by 15% annually. This is a payment audience that is of great interest to us,” Dmitry Rudenko, Chairman of the Management Board of Post Bank, explained the investment.
The exact budget of future injections is not called. According to the official press release, we are talking about “tens of millions of rubles.” These funds will be used for the implementation of three projects.
- Launch of a bank card for gamers, which will open access to the loyalty program “Cybersportsman of the FCS of Russia”. The latter gives discounts on the purchase of computers and game paraphernalia.
- Website Launch Cyberlab.gg , where esports news and the schedule of tournaments of the Russian Computer Sports Federation will be published. There will also be a closed part where there will be a chat with popular players, master classes and other premium content. Only the owners of the above-mentioned bank card will have access to the closed part.
- Participation as a general partner in the Russian Esports Cup.
The projects are being implemented within the framework of a partnership agreement between Pochta Bank and the Russian Computer Sports Federation.
The launch of the website will take place simultaneously with the start of the pre—order for maps – on September 15.
