Moscow studio Mundfish received a grant from Epic Games

The winners of the Unreal Dev Grants program, which is conducted by Epic Games to support developers working on the Unreal engine, have been determined. $1 million was distributed among 37 teams. Among the grant recipients are the Moscow studio Mundfish and its Atomic Heart project.

Atomic Heart is a first-person shooter with RPG elements. The game takes place during the collapse of the USSR in a factory full of crazed robots. The game resembles Bioshock with an emphasis on close combat and is being developed for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Mundfis and other teams that won the current round of Unreal Dev Grants received amounts from $5 thousand to $50 thousand. Recipients can dispose of the grants at their discretion, they have no obligations to Epic.

Among the winning projects are not only games. For example, grants were received by Kara Education, an educational platform for hearing-impaired children, a VR project for the diagnosis of dementia VStore, as well as an Anima plugin that allows you to simulate crowd behavior at levels made on Unreal.

The Unreal Dev Grants competition has been in existence since 2015. In addition, Epic Games has other investment projects to support game developers on Unreal. Among the partners of such projects are the Interactive Gaming Ventures investment fund and Mail.Ru Games Ventures.
