Twitch to Pay $175k to Indie Game Developers
Streaming platform Twitch has launched Indie Amplifire — a program to promote the popularity of games from independent developers. As part of the program, Twitch promised to divide $ 175 thousand between the authors of the three best indie titles that users of the service will choose by voting.
The debut release of Indie Amplifire started on February 19. He offers owners of a paid Twitch Prime subscription to vote for one of 8 indie games:
- Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation (BKOM Studios)
- Tumblestone (The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild)
- Treadnauts (Topstitch Games)
- High Hell (Terri Vellmann)
- I, Hope (Arconyx Studios)
- Shadow Tactics (Mimimi Productions)
- Kingsway (Andrew Morrish)
- SteamWorld Dig 2 (Image & Form)
The voting will last until March 11. On March 15, all participants will receive a free copy of the winning game of the survey.
In addition, Twitch has agreed with the production company N3rdfusion to create a web show, in which popular streamers SimCopter1 and DizzyKitten will broadcast the gameplay of the winning title, and N3rdfusion correspondents will interview its creators.
It is not yet known whether the current Indie Amplifire will be the only one, or will be released on an ongoing basis with a certain frequency.
