The game developer behind the "Friday the 13th" and "Predator" franchises is conducting layoffs
IllFonic has joined the long list of gaming companies that are reducing their workforce. The layoffs were announced by the head and co-founder of the studio, Charles Brungardt, on social media.
Predator: Hunting Grounds
According to Brungardt, the reason for this decision is the current difficult situation in the gaming industry. “Today, we had to confront a harsh reality — the state of the industry has impacted us at IllFonic,” he wrote.
The exact number of layoffs has not been disclosed.
IllFonic is primarily known for games based on iconic films such as Friday the 13th, Predator, and Ghostbusters — Friday the 13th: The Game, Predator: Hunting Grounds, and Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The studio also collaborated with the developers of Star Citizen and Crysis 3.
