The restructuring process will affect various departments and teams, although the exact number of employees who may lose their jobs has not yet been announced. A company representative stated that “these changes will help ensure the studio’s long-term sustainability and align with current development needs.”
Sources close to the GamesIndustry portal also reported that as part of these layoffs, the NaturalMotion office in Birmingham, which focused on racing game development, will be closed.
The layoffs might be part of a cost-cutting program conducted by Take-Two, which Zynga is a part of. The holding company plans to lay off about 580 people by the end of the year.
