The layoffs were initially reported by journalist Nicole Carpenter from Polygon, after which representatives from Singularity 6 publicly confirmed the information. In a statement to the media, they explained that the staff reduction is necessary for the studio to weather a "challenging economic period."

Singularity 6 emphasized that they will continue to support Palia despite the difficulties.

This marks the third time in the past nine months that Singularity 6 has reduced its staff. The previous round of layoffs was in April, when 49 employees lost their jobs.
