Perfect World Europe has had layoffs

This week, people were fired at the European branch of Perfect World Entertainment. An unnamed number of employees in Amsterdam lost their jobs.

It is known that organizational changes have affected game designers, marketers and community managers. The management informed each of them about the dismissal in face-to-face conversations.

At the same time, employees from the accounting, technical support and localization departments retained their jobs.

A representative of the publisher said that “a small number of employees” were dismissed. Perfect World took this step for the sake of “flexibility and efficiency” of its business in the gaming market. The company did not disclose how many people eventually remained in the Amsterdam team for privacy reasons.

The publisher Perfect World was founded in China in 2004. Perfect World Entertainment is its subsidiary operating business in the USA and Europe. The headquarters in Amsterdam opened in 2010. It is managed by Perfect World Entertainment.

Note that the publisher has released a number of free-play MMORPGs to the market, such as Perfect World and Neverwinter Online.
