10% of DeNA employees work on titles for Nintendo
Every tenth employee of the Japanese company DeNA is engaged in creating mobile games for Nintendo as part of the Nintendo Alliance partnership program.
This was announced by DeNA CEO Isao Moriyasu at a briefing for investors. According to Moriyasu, about a hundred of more than a thousand DeNA employees are involved in the Nintendo Alliance.
Moriyasu added that cooperation with Nintendo is a priority for DeNA, so the company is ready to allocate even more resources for him if necessary.
According to the head of DeNA, the development of one game costs the studio about $ 4.5 million.
The Nintendo Alliance has created mobile Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes. By the end of the year, developers should release the third mobile title — the social game Animal Crossing.
In the last financial year, DeNA gaming division’s profits increased by 9% and reached $255 million.
