Krafton announces record-breaking sales and operating profits in 2024
Krafton has announced impressive financial results for 2024, with annual revenue increasing by 41.8% compared to the previous year, reaching $1.85 billion.
The company's operating profit saw similar growth, rising 54% year-over-year to $825.7 million, driven by the ongoing growth and success of the PUBG intellectual property and a notable 35.7% increase in profits from Battlegrounds Mobile India during the same period.
Net profits for the year also soared, showing a 119% increase from the prior year.
The robust results are consistent with Krafton's fourth-quarter performance, where both sales and operating profits experienced rises of 16% and 31%, respectively. The company highlighted inZOI, Dark and Darker Mobile, Subnautica 2, and Dinkum Together as part of its significant strategic focus moving forward.
CEO CH Kim stated, "While we continue to enhance the PUBG brand, we are also committed to finding a new franchise IP to strengthen our position in the global gaming sector."
He added, "Our aim is to transcend traditional game development, using our AI technology to redefine gaming experiences and further the global entertainment landscape."
In August, Krafton expanded its portfolio by acquiring Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi Rush IP from Xbox as part of a strategic collaboration.
