DeNA's profit from games soared by more than 8000% thanks to the success of Pokémon TCG Pocket
The mobile card game Pokémon TCG Pocket has led to a rapid rise in revenues for one of its developers. In the financial report for April to December 2024, the company DeNA reported that the profit from its gaming segment skyrocketed by 8126.8% to 21 billion yen (138.3 million dollars).

The majority of this amount came in the last three months of the past year — 18.6 billion yen (122.3 million dollars). This period coincides with the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket, which launched on October 30, 2024.
The revenue from DeNA's gaming segment also grew by a modest 29%, reaching 50.6 billion yen (332.8 million dollars) from April to December 2024. Out of this, 28 billion yen (184 million dollars) was recorded in October-December 2024.

DeNA also mentioned that Pokémon TCG Pocket currently has a very high retention rate, surpassing that of its other Japanese titles. However, DeNA did not disclose the exact figures or other metrics for the game.
It is known that by mid-December, Pokémon TCG Pocket had been downloaded over 60 million times worldwide. According to AppMagic's data, the game has generated 384.3 million dollars in net IAP revenue to date.
