The mobile game Where Winds Meet generated $1.4 million in China in just three days, with a projected annual revenue of $573 million

Recently in China, Where Winds Meet—a role-playing game from Everstone Studio and NetEase—was released for PC and smartphones. The game's setting takes place during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. At least on mobile devices, the new release has shown excellent initial results.

The Chinese release of the mobile version of Where Winds Meet took place on January 9, 2025. According to data from the analytics service AppMagic, by January 11, the game's net revenue from IAP exceeded $1.4 million with 1.6 million downloads. This only accounts for revenue from the App Store. Revenue from Android stores in China is not tracked by AppMagic, and taking that into account, the total amount should be even higher.

Revenue dynamics of Where Winds Meet in the Chinese App Store

As noted by the GameLook portal, Where Winds Meet currently tops the list of most downloaded games in the Chinese App Store. In the iOS revenue rankings, it holds the 12th position in the country.

The PC version of Where Winds Meet appeared a bit earlier in China—on December 27, 2024. The performance metrics for this version are unknown.

According to forecasts by analysts from Goldman Sachs, within the first 12 months, Where Winds Meet could earn 2.4 billion yuan ($327 million) on mobile devices and 1.8 billion yuan ($246 million) on PC.

The global release date for Where Winds Meet is still unknown. In addition to PC and smartphones, the game is expected to be released on PlayStation 5 consoles.
