Zynga reported record revenue. In three months, she earned $720 million
The second quarter of 2021 was the most profitable in the history of Zynga. During this time, the company earned $720 million. This result was achieved thanks to the purchased studios and flagship games like Toon Blast and Toy Blast.

- Zynga’s revenue grew both year—on-year and quarterly – by 59% and 6%, respectively. It also turned out to be 6.6% higher than planned.
- 97% of the revenue was brought by mobile — $699 million. Zynga’s top hits like Toon Blast, Toy Blast, CSR Racing, Empires & Puzzles and Merge Dragons! provided 66% of all earnings. Social casinos brought in another 15%.
- Among the growth drivers, Zynga also noted the match-3 game Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells from Portkey Games released in 2020, as well as new items Hair Challenge and Queen Bee! from Rollic Games.
- Almost two—thirds of the revenue came from the United States – $436 million.
- This time Zynga managed to make a net profit, which reached $28 million. For comparison, a year ago the company reported losses of $ 150 million. They were observed until the first quarter of 2021, when the publisher lost $23 million.
- In annual terms, receipts (bookings) also increased. They rose 37% to $712 million. But in the last quarter, this figure was slightly higher — by 1.2%.
- The DAU of Zynga games increased by 86% year-on-year and reached 41 million players. The number of active users per month immediately increased by 193% to a record 205 million.
Forecast for the third quarter and the whole of 2021
In the next quarter, Zynga expects to receive revenue of $665 million, which is a third more than a year ago. Nevertheless, she again predicts a loss, which should now amount to $ 110. For the full year, the company plans to reach revenue of $2.7 billion and make a loss of $135 million.
In its forecast, Zynga did not take into account the revenue from the newly purchased StarLark, since the deal will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
