G5 Entertainment's quarterly revenue exceeded $40.2 million. All thanks to the latest releases

Swedish publisher with Russian roots G5 Entertainment reported for the fourth quarter of 2020 (October-December). It turned out to be successful in many respects. The publisher’s own revenues during this time exceeded the mark of 335.3 million Swedish kronor ($ 40.2 million), and the revenue of individual games increased by an impressive 250%.

  • in the last three months of 2020 , the company earned SEK 335.3 million or $40.2 million. In dollar terms, the annual revenue growth was 15% (if we count in crowns — a more modest 2%);

Comparison of G5 Entertainment’s quarterly revenue for 2009-2020G5 Entertainment’s net profit also grew well — to SEK 46 million ($5.5 million).

  • For comparison, in the fourth quarter of 2019, this indicator was in the red (- SEK 4.4 million or – $528 thousand).;
  • EBIT reached a record size. For the first time in the history of the company’s fourth quarters, it was fixed at the level of SEK 52.3 million ($6.3 million). Height — 266%;

  • It has increased by 250% in annual terms. The most successful products were the Jewels series of games;
  • 61% of G5 Entertainment’s revenue came from its own projects, whereas in the same period last year they were responsible for only 40% of revenue. We need to thank a new generation of games for this;

The shares of “old”, “new” and third-party games in the company’s revenuemost of the money came from North America — 58% of the publisher’s total revenue.

  • Europe generated another 22% of the company’s revenue. The third place went to Asia — 14%;

  • Growth in annual terms — 27%;
  • DAU for the reporting period averaged 1.7 million players. This is 12% more than it was in the fourth quarter of 2019;
  • However, the number of paying users per month (MUP) increased by only 1%. It amounted to 217.8 thousand players;
  • The company’s MAGRPPU, however, grew by 15% to $60.3. This was also facilitated by an improved monetization system.

Also in the report, G5 Entertainment walked a little bit and at the end of the entire 2020.

The publisher noted that although the beginning of 2020 was “very difficult” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this did not prevent the company from implementing its strategy. By autumn, the impact of the global lockdown had almost passed. At the same time, the third and fourth quarters were the most successful for G5 Entertainment.

Eight publisher’s games were released during the year. Together with the old G5 Entertainment titles, they have collected a total of 31 million downloads (+41%). In 2021, the company intends to release six more projects.

G5 Entertainment’s annual revenue was SEK 1.35 billion ($162.8 million), and net profit was SEK 167.3 million ($20.9 million).
