Roblox has become a member of the foundation that runs Blender

The current head of Roblox Studio, Stefano Corazza, announced that his company has joined the Blender Development Fund.

Simply put, from now on Roblox Studio acts as one of the sponsors, providing free funds for the development of the Blender three-dimensional modeling package.

"Blender is one of the most popular external tools used by members of the Roblox community," explained Korazza's participation in the foundation.

The Roblox Studio Foundation acts as a silver sponsor, and the money is donated there is small — $ 12 thousand per year. Other silver Blender sponsors include Valve, Activision, and the authors of Farming Simulator from Giants Software.

For comparison, Meta, AMD, NetEase, Amazon, Epic Games and Volkswagen donate around $240,000 per year to the development of Blender.

Such subsidies allow Blender to collectively raise about $200,000 per month. Donations come from both companies and individuals.

By the way, Roblox Studio timed the release of a piece of code for Blender to coincide with this announcement, whose integration (this is not an official plugin) will allow you to upload three-dimensional models to Roblox directly from Blender (as well as their update on the fly).
