A simplified version of the Unity engine for beginners has been released
With it, you can create a small 2D game with simple physics.
Unity has offered a simplified version of its engine for 2D games. The tool is called Unity Playground. It is designed specifically for novice developers of all ages.
Unity Playground eliminates the need to code, since it already contains:
- more than 30 scripts for controlling game objects (these are scripts for movement, jumping, creating/destroying objects, etc.);
- a set of pre-installed assets;
- the function of importing graphic models.
According to Gamesindustry.biz, Playground also has the option to switch to the standard Unity engine editor if necessary.
Nevertheless, as the company notes, to use a simplified tool, you need to know the basics of Unity: GameObjects, Prefabs and the basic interface.
Unity Playground is available for free in the Unity Asset Store.
