Must read: 150 useful books for game developers
Computer science teacher Damien Djauti from the French University of Montpellier II has compiled a list of 150 books for game developers.
They are devoted to a variety of topics: the history of games (computer and mobile), the theory and practice of game design, advice to artists. Among these books, you can also find biographies of famous game creators: for example, the list includes an unofficial biography of Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario and Zelda, and the success story of Markuss Persson, the author of Minecraft.
All books can be found at the link.
One of the books listed in the list is already in Russian. These are the “Lords of Doom” (Masters of Doom). Its author is David Kushner.
In addition, another useful book has been translated into Russian, which is not on the list: Game Over: How Nintendo Conquered the World (Game Over: How Nintendo Conquered The World) by David Sheff.
