The market did not react to the launch of Prime Matter, the Embracer Group publishing label. He was not impressed by the announcements

The opening ceremony of Summer Game Fest was held yesterday. At it, Koch Media, a subsidiary of the Embracer Group, presented a publishing label — Prime Matter. However, neither the launch of a new publisher nor the announcement of its games impressed investors.

Shares of the Swedish holding Embracer Group were trading at a price of $29.99 apiece at the close of the exchange. Today, one share is worth only one cent more — exactly $30.

According to Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz, the opening of Prime Matter is in line with his company’s growth strategy. With its help, Koch Media hopes to become a truly global publisher.

“We want to work with as many studios as possible. I think it’s better to create a new company to release some products than to try to push everything through existing labels,” commented Kundratits.

Recall that at least two more publishing houses are now under the leadership of Koch Media: Deep Silver and Ravenscourt.

A total of 25-30 people will work in the Prime Matter team. Koch Media will help the newly minted publishing house with marketing, business development, community management and many others.

Games that will be published by Prime Matter:

Payday 3

Koch Media took over the publication of this cooperative first-person shooter in March. But now the company has transferred the rights to the publication of Prime Matter. There are still few details about the game. It will be released in 2023 on PC and consoles.

New part of Painkiller

The last game in the series — Painkiller: Hell & Damnation — was released nine years ago. Saber Interactive is working on the new part, but apart from that, almost nothing is known about the game. The title will have console and PC versions.

CrossFire: Legion

This is an RTS based on the Korean network shooter CrossFire. The game is jointly made by the authors of the original title from the studio Smilegate and Blackbird Interactive, known for Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

The strategy is expected to be released on PC in 2022. The game will have both single mode and multiplayer.

Scars Above

Sci-fi action adventure. The main character of Scars Above must survive on a distant gloomy planet.

The game is being developed by the Serbian studio Mad Head Games, which is part of Saber Interactive and has made a number of titles like Pagan Online and Rite of Passage. The release of Scars Above will take place in 2022.

Final Form (working title)

The creators of the Ruiner shooter from Reikon Games are engaged in a new project. Next up is a futuristic first-person shooter under the working title Final Form. The player in the role of a cyborg valkyrie must protect humanity from destruction.

It will be released on consoles and PC.

Gungrave G.O.R.E

Another shooter, but from a third person about the “cool antihero of your dreams”. Gamers will play for Grave, a resurrected assassin. They will fight criminals from the “Raven Clan”, which produces SEED drugs.

The release of Gungrave G.O.R.E was originally scheduled for 2019, but then shifted more than once. The game is now expected to be released in 2022 on consoles and PC.

Dolmen

The Brazilian Massive Works is developing an action RPG. The game can be described as a mixture of Dark Souls and Dead Space, but in which science fiction is intertwined with Lovecraft motifs.

Dolmen is due to be released next year on PC and consoles.

The Last Oricru

The action of this action-RPG takes place on a semi-abandoned planet where people have forgotten about advanced technologies. The remnants of technology are often mistaken for magical artifacts. The player is waiting for numerous battles for survival (in single and cooperative modes).

The game was developed by Gold Knights. It will be released in 2022 on PC and consoles.

Echoes of the End (working title)

A single-player fantasy adventure game from the Icelandic studio Myrkur Games. In the game you will have to explore the world, solve puzzles and fight. Echoes of the End will be released on PC and consoles.

The Chant

Psychological horror about the occult, which was developed by the Canadian studio Brass Token. There will be no shooting weapons in it, but only torches, sticks, etc.

The Chant will receive a PC and console version and will be released in the second quarter of 2022.

King’s Bounty II

The sequel to the iconic King’s Bounty series will be released on August 24 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. At the end of last year, it was reported that Koch Media would publish the game 1C Entertainment. But, apparently, now the company has decided to transfer it to Prime Matter.

Encased

Another project that Koch Media was originally supposed to publish. St. Petersburg developers from Dark Crystal Games are working on it. The game itself is an RPG in a post-apocalypse setting inspired by the original Fallout. Since 2019, the title has been in early access mode, from which it should be released this September.

Also, Prime Matter will publish some already released games:

  • The Kingdom Come: Deliverance version for Nintendo Switch;
  • versions of Iron Harvest and Outward for PS5 and Xbox Series;
  • console version of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord;
  • the console version of Phoenix Point;
  • add-ons for Wasteland 3.

It should be noted that today at 22:00 Moscow time, Koch Media will hold an open presentation, where it will tell in detail about Prime Matter and game announcements. You can view it here.
