Sensor Tower: Gamers Spent $295.6 million on Mobile Games during Christmas
The Catholic Christmas of 2020 turned out to be very monetary for the gaming mobile. The analytical company Sensor Tower told about this in its report. We have chosen the main one from it.
- On December 25, $295.6 million was spent on mobile games worldwide — 27% more than at Christmas last year ($232.4 million). Note that the statistics took into account player spending only in the App Store and Google Play;
- the global leader in the size of gaming expenses turned out to be Honor of Kings. Title earnings immediately increased by 205.7% year-on-year and reached $10.7 million. On the same day of 2019, the game’s revenue was only $3.5 million.;
- gaming expenses have also increased in the American market. There, over Christmas, mobile earned $87.2 million. This is 26.4% more than a year earlier ($69 million);
- The most profitable mobile game in the States was Roblox. The project’s Christmas revenue amounted to $6.6 million — it jumped by 40.4% compared to the previous year ($4.7 million).
Sensor Tower explained the increase in Christmas spending by a radical change in the lifestyle of users in 2020.
