Gismart, whose base of mobile installations is more than 350 million, enters the market of hyper-casual games
A new player has appeared on the market of hyper-casual projects. Gismart, a company that previously specialized in music applications, is launching a gaming direction. It will create simple and fast-to-produce games.
According to the Belarusian-British developer, the new direction will have 40 employees. Gismart plans to develop a dozen projects “in the coming year”. Now there are already two in development.
However, in the future, the company is not going to be limited to hyper-casual projects. After the team has debugged the production processes and gets its hands on simple games, it is going to do more complex casual products.
The new direction was headed by Andrey Mikhlin. He had previously been a producer in the St. Petersburg division of Social Quantum for more than two years, and also worked in Plamee and IT Territory.
Gismart’s application should be taken seriously. Having initially found itself in the field of mobile music applications, the company has managed to achieve impressive results in this niche. Its total downloads, according to official data, exceeded the 350 million mark.
A large installation base is what is needed today for the successful launch of a series of hyper—casual games, if, of course, the company is ready to turn to aggressive cross-promotion of its gaming products.
However, Gismart boasts not only a solid coverage. According to the DataMagic analytical service, the company’s revenue for all time only from subscriptions and IAP is approaching $ 100 million. Now she earns $5-7 million a month, excluding the share of stores and advertising.
By the way, in connection with the opening of a new direction, Gismart is looking for new personnel.
Gismart has previously announced its gaming ambitions. Back in 2016, in an interview with us, the co-founder and CTO of the company, Alexander Minets, said that the team was “actively preparing for the release of new games.” Two years later, it was also reported that Gismart was looking for games for the publication and was even ready to invest from $50,000 to $1 million in each project.
