Control brought the publisher Digital Bros $40 million and helped increase the company's revenue by 71%
Control became one of the success factors of the publisher Digital Bros in the last fiscal year (ended June 30). The Remedy game has generated revenue of $40 million since its release.A major Italian publisher Digital Bros has published a report for the 2019-2020 financial year:
- the company’s total revenue was $162 million (compared to $94.7 million last year);revenue from premium games doubled to $142.5 million;
- earnings before taxes and interest (EBITDA) amounted to $40.4 million and increased 4.5 times compared to last year.
- Digital Bros calls Control, the publisher of which is its subsidiary 505 Games, a key driver of growth.
Other successful titles include Bloodstained ($13.75 million) and Journey to the Savage Planet ($14.1 million).
Control was released last year. On PC, the game was first released exclusively in the Epic Games Store thanks to a deal with the creators of Fortnite for $ 10.5 million. This amount also partially helped to cover the budget for the development of the project. Despite not the most successful start, Control eventually became a success for Remedy itself — last year the Finnish company’s revenue increased by 57%.
As for Digital Bros, the company expects revenue growth in the next fiscal year. This can be facilitated by the PC version of Death Stranding, the release of Ghostrunner, as well as the release of new versions of Control for next-generation consoles.Also on the topic:
