Game developers for Steam have received a tool for re-engaging users

Valve announced that as part of the Steam update (we are talking about the new design of the Library section), developers have gained access to a new promotion tool.

“As of today, developers have access to new event creation tools that will get directly into the new library,” according to the Steam blog.

The principle of operation of the new functionality is better explained by an example. The game has a new patch or content coming out (or some kind of broadcast or competition is starting). The developer, using the Steam functionality, can not only report this on the game’s blog in the store, as it was before, but also send an alert about it to the library to each game owner.

The notification in the library looks like a large banner. For example, in my library at the very top I see messages about the Kingdom stream, a large-scale update for WarGroove and a patch for Age of Mythology (yes, patches are still being released for it).

The new set of tools was initially launched back in September. However, it is only today that all developers have the opportunity to publish notifications about new events related to the game in user libraries.

More information about working with the tool can be found in the documentation for Steam at this link.
