Xbox Live service will appear on Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS
In March, Microsoft will introduce a new SDK for cross-platform support of the service.
Xbox Live support in Nintendo Switch games, as well as in mobile games, promises to become a reality. Microsoft accidentally revealed plans to develop the cross-platform nature of its service.
This information is in the company’s report on the upcoming session at GDC 2019, according to Windows Central. The session is titled as “Xbox Live: Growth and Engagement of the Gaming audience on iOS, Android, Switch, Xbox and PC”. It is expected that Microsoft will present an SDK for implementing the service in games on all these platforms.
The SDK will allow to implement cross-platform support for various Xbox Live functions, writes Gamesindustry.biz . This includes achievements, social functions, multiplayer mode. Note that the mobile version of Minecraft, published by Microsoft, already supports Xbox Live achievements.
