The online role-playing thriller Path of Exile simultaneously gathered almost 100 thousand players on Steam
The free-to-play online role-playing thriller Path of Exile from the New Zealand studio Grinding Gear Games has collected the second largest online gaming in almost 5 years of existence. On the first weekend of June, there were more than 96 thousand people on the title’s servers at the same time.

The title temporarily took 4th place in the ranking of the most popular games on the Steam platform, second only to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS.
The surge in attendance was caused by the release of the new Incursion add-on, which contained new locations, quests and other game content.
The previous influx of players to the Path of Exile servers occurred in August 2017, when online gaming amounted to a record 98 thousand people. The title managed to achieve such indicators thanks to the release of The Fall of Oriath supplement and promotion through broadcasts on the Twitch stream platform.
It should be noted that in May of this year, Grinding Gear Games was acquired by the Chinese corporation Tencent, buying a controlling stake in the studio for an undisclosed amount.
