Sber has launched its own cloud gaming service

Another cloud gaming service has appeared. It was launched by Sber, which continues to develop new business areas. Participation in the beta of the service is free, but there are a couple of nuances — it will last only a month and will require a special console.

The service itself was called SberPlay. As the company announced in its press release, its beta version became available to users of the smart set-top box SberBox last Friday. Free testing will run for a month — until January 25, 2021. After it, SberPlay will already work on a subscription, the price of which Sber has not yet announced.

At the moment, you can only play “through the cloud” in three games: War Thunder, CRSED: F.O.A.D. and Crossout. But the service also supports a kind of “popular digital distribution store with 30 thousand titles” (probably Steam). If you buy a game in this store, it will also start in SberPlay.

SberPlay can be controlled using a virtual gamepad from the Sber Salute application. The service is also compatible with popular controllers like Defender or Dual Shock. At the same time, you cannot connect more than one gamepad at the same time.

This is not the last technical initiative of Sberbank over the past week. For example, last Monday the company opened sales of SberPortal — a smart display with support for virtual assistants “Salyut”.
