Swedish holding Thunderful Group became the owner of Station Interactive
Thunderful Holding continues to expand its portfolio. This time the company bought the Swedish studio Station Interactive together with all its assets and intellectual property.
It is not yet known how much the deal cost for Thunderful. Neither side has fully disclosed the details of the takeover. But it is already clear that in the near future all 35 employees of Station Interactive will come under the leadership of the holding.
According to the CEO of Thunderful, Brjann Sigurgeirsson, thanks to this purchase, both companies will be able to “make games faster and better”.
Station Interactive was founded in 2013. During this time, the company managed to release its own mobile title Sniper Extinction and start working on another original project — Righteous. But the studio’s greatest fame was brought by numerous DLC for the Little Big Planet series. These additions were made based on God of War, Dark Souls, Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age and other franchises.
Note: Thunderful is buying a new studio for the second time this fall. The last acquisition took place in early November. Then the British Coatsink Software, developing the Jurassic World Aftermath VR project, became part of the holding.
