PUBG Mobile's operation in India will completely stop on October 30
Today, October 30, PUBG Mobile will stop working in India. The lifting of the ban was not helped by the revocation of the license to publish the game from Tencent, nor negotiations with local companies. The Indian government banned PUBG Mobile on September 2.
The game was removed from the stores, but users could continue to play it if they already had an installed client. From today, Indian citizens will be completely blocked from accessing the project.
“Protecting user data has always been our top priority and we have always worked in accordance with the current Indian laws and regulations in this area. We deeply regret this outcome and sincerely thank everyone for supporting PUBG Mobile in India,“ the developers said in a statement. Recall that the official reason for blocking PUBG Mobile and 117 other offers in India was “damage to the sovereignty and integrity of the country.” In fact, such a decision has become an instrument of pressure on China due to the conflict on the northeastern border in the Himalayas.PUBG Corporation tried to circumvent the blocking by taking the rights to publish PUBG Mobile from the Chinese giant Tencent. When this did not help, the developer entered into negotiations with the Indian government and the local company Jio Platforms.
Despite the unfortunate outcome, PUBG Corporation will certainly try to find other ways to solve the problem. The South Korean company clearly does not want to lose an important market for itself: a quarter of PUBG Mobile downloads were in India. Also on the topic:
