Google has launched a children's mode for Android tablets

Google is taking another step towards creating a safe mobile infrastructure for children. The company has introduced a mode called Google Kids Space, which will soon work on Android tablets.

According to Google, this children’s mode is “something more than standard parental control.” According to the company, Kids Space creates a separate environment where the child will be protected from dangerous content for him.

Kids Space is not Google’s first attempt to make a mobile store safe for children. Previously, the company has already launched the Family Link parental control application and the “Children” section on Google Play. The new regime is a direct continuation of these initiatives.

On tablets in which Kids Space is activated, in fact, a separate profile of the child will appear. Children will even be able to customize their own avatar characters.

All content is divided into the categories “Play”, “Read”, “Watch” and “Make”. According to the company, 400 free books will be available in the “Read” section, but so far only for American users. The “Watch” and “Make” sections will host creative videos from YouTube Kids. In addition, if desired, parents will be able to download additional things from Google Play.

At the moment, Kids Space is only available on Lenovo Tab M10 HD Gen 2 tablets. However, Google says it plans to introduce a children’s mode later on other tablets using the Android operating system.

The issue of child safety in gaming stores has been raised by companies more than once. Back in 2013, Samsung worked with Fingerprint on a children’s mobile platform. At the same time, Apple launched a separate category in its store, where it picked up applications for children of different ages.
