Gaming startup Bazooka Tango has raised $2.5 million. It was led by the co-founders of Super Evil Megacorp
Vainglory development veterans have founded a new game studio in California — Bazooka Tango. The seed round of financing brought her $2.5 million.
Vainglory
The company was created by Bo Daly, one of the four founders of Super Evil Megacorp., and Stephan Sherman, who was responsible for the Vainglory game design.
Delhi became the CEO of Bazooka Tango, and Sherman became the director of product and Director of Technology.
Now there are 8 other people in the team besides them. There are people from Riot Games, Rockstar, EA and NCsoft in the state, VentureBeat reports.
What will Bazooka Tango do
The team will spend all the money raised on game development. She wants to expand the universe of Vainglory, a mobile MOBA from Super Evil Megacorp. with 34 million downloads. (Now the game is being developed by Rogue Games.)
Bazooka Tango’s debut project will be the multiplayer Vainglory All-Stars on the E.V.I.L. engine (Super Evil Megacorp’s own technology.). The project differs from the more gloomy and realistic Vainglory with a bright cartoon design. The release of the game is scheduled for spring.
In general, as the founders say, Bazooka Tango is ready to create mobile games in different genres (both IP Vanglory and new ones) for a wide audience. “We have a chance to create an AAA formula exclusively for mobile. The industry needs to understand what games should be (according to this formula). And it’s not about taking a PC formula and transferring it to mobile phones,” Delhi said.
Let’s add that the largest amount in Bazooka Tango was invested by the Bitkraft Esports Ventures fund. Other investors include MTG and Mergelane.
