Wargaming will support US military personnel
An exclusive bundle will appear in World of Warships for nine weeks. All proceeds from its sales will be used to provide psychological assistance to veterans and US military personnel.
Today, the publisher Wargaming announced a partnership with Stack Up. This non-profit organization helps the American military to overcome PTSD and depressive states. Video games serve as a tool of struggle.
To this end, Stack Up has launched a number of programs, including Stack Up’s Overwatch Program (StOP). Within its framework, a team of qualified volunteers advises veterans at Discord.
It is for the development of this program that the money from the sale of bundles in World of Warships will go. The partners plan to raise at least $100 thousand in this way. “We know that there are many veterans among our players, and such cooperation is quite natural for us,” said Artur Plotsennik, regional director for the game’s publication.
Note: the audience of Wargaming hits (primarily World of Tanks) is mainly represented by players from Russia and the CIS. Perhaps the publisher expects to change the situation with the participation of organizations from the USA. Moreover, Wargaming has already worked with the American veterans community in 2012-2013. In Russia, he participates in the museum’s military-patriotic program “We Remember everything”.
And let’s add: in January, a key Wargaming developer announced the creation of his own party. He plans to nominate her in the elections in Russia. You can read more about this here and here.
