At the weekend, the peak online in the battle royale of Apex Legends reached 2 million users. Respawn’s brainchild managed in just seven days what Fortnite had been trying to achieve for 16 weeks.

In the release week, Apex Legends was tested by 25 million players. Already in the first day, 2.5 million people entered the game. All these figures were given by the founder of Respawn Vince Zampella (Vince Zampella).

For comparison: Fortnite from Epic Games, this giant of the battle royale genre, gained an audience of 20 million players in six weeks after release (according to Niko Partners). Thus, the growth rate of Apex Legends is seriously higher than that of Fortnite.

Apex Legends Audience Growth

  • 8 hours — 1 million players;
  • 1 day — 2.5 million players;
  • 3 days — 10 million players;
  • 7 days — 25 million players.

Fortnite Audience Growth

  • 2 weeks — 10 million players;
  • 6 weeks — 20 million players;
  • 11 weeks — 30 million players;
  • 16 weeks — 40 million players.

EA and Respawn announced and released a new “battle royale” for the Titanfall universe on the same day — February 4. Let’s add that the success of Apex Legends has benefited another game from Respawn — Titanfall 2. Its online on all platforms has grown several times, according to ResetEra.
