The peak online in Artifact fell to 3 thousand people
The Artifact card collectible game is getting worse and worse. Its online has dropped to almost 3,000 players, according to the Steam Database.
At the release in November 2018, 60 thousand people played it at the same time. Since then, there has been a constant outflow of players. Several released patches did not help the case.
The new game from Valve has been criticized because of the monetization system, which players dubbed: “Pay for everything you do.” They complain about the inability to play it without additional investments.
Users didn’t like that you can’t replenish your card collection for free in the game. You can either earn cards in a special game mode by paying real money for entry, or buy them on the Steam Trading Platform. The game itself costs 1,390 rubles.
The players were also annoyed by the lack of a familiar ladder (rating system). In Artifact, a player does not fall lower in the ranking after losing.
The lack of a ladder (a type of rating used in online games) confused me very much. There are no statistics and accounting of games. An esports game without a ladder! And without ladder, a competent selection of rivals is impossible.
And some of the players got angry because of the lack of chat.
There is no normal ladderer in the game released almost in 2019, and what is now is just a spit in the face. Ladder doesn't mean anything, there are no seasons, there are no awards, you can't fall down. There is no chat in the game! After each game, we are invited to chat with an opponent — and you know what? The game just opens the Steam chat with an external window, and it doesn't matter that Steam forbids sending messages to non-friends.
Despite all these disadvantages, users have found advantages of the game. In particular, many noted the deeply developed and fascinating mechanics and an interesting ENT based on the Dota 2 universe.
