2K is looking for new studios to buy
The American publisher 2K Games is looking for partners to work with and a studio to acquire. 2K is also interested in new ideas that can diversify the gaming experience. The president of the company, David Ismailer, told MCV about this.
“We want to find what I call experienced dreamers: people focused on the quality of the content being created and able to bring fresh ideas to the gaming space,” said the head of 2K, stressing that today the entire gaming industry suffers from a lack of interesting concepts.
As an example of the desired cooperation, the president of the publishing house cited the company Firaxis, known as the developer of a number of global strategies of the Civilization series and the relaunch of the XCOM tactical franchise.
“Developers take creative risks when implementing their ideas, so we have to support them financially and promote games to the market so that the creators of titles can create further,” explained David Ismeiler.
Note that Firaxis has been a part of 2K Games since 2005.
