NetEase will launch a web series based on the game Knives Out
The Chinese Internet company NetEase has announced that it is developing a dramatic web series, the basis for which will be the multiplayer game Knives Out – a mobile clone of PUBG.
NetEase announced plans to create a web series to promote Knives Out at its own 520 Game Enthusiasts’ Day conference in Guangzhou. The audience has already been shown a preview of the future show.
To date, Knives Out is the most popular battle royale game on iOS and Android. In February 2018 alone, NetEase earned $24 million on it, and the monthly audience of its unique users exceeds 50 million.
NetEase plans to significantly expand the audience of its products through cooperation with companies from the film and television industry, as well as with publishers of books and comics. In addition to Knives Out, a new part of the MMORPG Tian Xia, which is in development, will receive its web series. A film on the Onmyoji turn—based strategy is also being shot – a trailer for the future picture was shown at the conference.
