Rumors: DICE are working on a "Battle Royale" for Battlefield V

The creators of the Battlefield shooter series are testing the “battle royale” mode for the last part of Battlefield V. This was told to the Venture Beat edition by DICE studio employees on condition of anonymity.

According to Venture Beat, Electronic Arts, the Battlefield publishing company, declined to comment on information about the work on the “royal battle”.

Battlefield V is scheduled for release in the second half of 2018.

Earlier, the publication Charlieintel reported that Activision publishing house and Raven Software studio intend to add the “battle royale” to the new part of Battlefield’s main competitor — Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which will be released on May 17 this year.

Activision also did not comment on these rumors, suggesting that journalists wait for the release of the game and see everything for themselves.

Recall that the “battle royale” became probably the most popular kind of online action games last year.

The success and wide popularity of the genre was brought by the PLAYERUNKNOWN BATTLEGROUNDS game designer Brendan Green and Bluehole studio. In less than a year, over 30 million copies of the game were sold.

The Fortnite Battle Royale action game from Epic Games has achieved even greater popularity. According to PCGamesN at the beginning of April this year, more than 45 million people play Fortnite.
