Ubisoft revealed the structure of work on the Assassin's Creed franchise
The Assassin’s Creed series of historical stealth fighters is one of Ubisoft’s most extensive franchises. Assassin’s Creed brand manager and Ubisoft creative director Jean Guesdon told how they manage to release a large-scale project every 2-3 years.
Starting in 2009, the company began to develop several parts of the series in parallel by different teams.

Gedson clarified that before Assassin’s Creed, the company did not develop several games at once within the same franchise.
As can be seen from the graph, the creation of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag started later than work on its sequel — Assassin’s Creed Unity. However, Black Flag was finished and released a year earlier than Unity.
In total, from 2004 to 2017, three teams from Montreal, two from Singapore, as well as employees of offices in Sofia and Quebec worked on the key games of the franchise.
In addition, different Ubisoft studios specialize in different game elements. In the last part of Assassin’s Creed Origins, a team from Sofia created quests in tombs and pyramids, and the Singapore office was responsible for battles on the water.
