Amazon has introduced a speech synthesizer for voice-over games

Those developers who don’t have money for voice acting or even a microphone may need to take a closer look at Amazon’s new solution. The company has introduced a speech synthesizer for voicing video games.

The Amazon synthesizer converts text into computer-generated speech. At the same time, the tool is able to automatically synchronize the movement of the lips of the game model with the spoken text.

It supports 24 languages and 50 voice options. The tone, pronunciation and breaks in speech when pronouncing individual words and replicas can be adjusted and supplemented with effects.

As the PC Gamer edition notes, the technology can be a good help for voicing minor NPCs, as well as help independent developers save money.

The tool is included in the free Lumberyard game engine. The latter, we recall, is a modified version of CryEngine.
