33 million players have registered in Rocket League
In two years, Rocket League sports car-action has gained a base of 33 million players, according to the game developer studio Psyonix.
Gamers have played 1.5 billion matches in Rocket League and scored almost 7 billion goals.
According to Psyonix statistics over the past 12 months, the game gathers about 1.6 million players per day, 3.3 million per week and 6.1 million gamers per month.
Most of the Rocket League audience plays it on PlayStation 4 — 41%. It is followed by Xbox One with 32% and PC Steam with 27%.
The popularity of the title on the Sony console is associated with an action in which the game was available for free to owners of the PlayStation Plus premium subscription of the PlayStation Network service in the first month after release.
Rocket League broadcasts on the Twitch streaming platform were watched by more than 35 million viewers, and about 630 thousand people streamed the games. The total time of all Rocket League streams exceeded 5 thousand years.
Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham noted that the second year of Rocket League was more successful than the first.
At the last E3 exhibition, a port of the game to the Nintendo Switch console was announced, as well as cross-platform support that will allow owners of different systems to play with each other.
