Apple has postponed new advertising rules for authors of children's games

In September, Apple planned to introduce new rules for children’s games and applications. But now the company has to postpone them.

According to The Washington Post, we are talking about the requirements of the App Store regarding advertising and data collection. In particular, Apple plans to restrict the purchase and placement of advertising, as well as the embedding of third-party software for collecting analytics in applications for children. All this is for the purpose of protecting the latter.

The company announced these changes in June. Now they have been postponed indefinitely. Apple employees say that they are not taking “a step back in solving this important issue” at all. Now they are working with the authors of games and apps in the App Store to “help them adjust.”

Note that a number of developers opposed future innovations. They fear that Apple is abusing its position in the market. The new rules may harm business, according to the authors of a class action lawsuit against the company.

It is not known what exactly the transfer is connected with, as well as the exact date of entry into force of the rules.
