Mobile Studio raised $20 million for machine learning for game marketing

Mobile developer Kixeye has received $20 million in investments to create a platform that uses machine learning capabilities in game marketing, monetization and user retention.

Most of the funds came from Icon Ventures. Ridge Ventures, Trinity Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated in the investment.

Kixeye technology is aimed at optimizing the gaming experience. It analyzes the behavior of gamers in various titles and determines which elements most often cause players difficulties and make them feel disappointed.

Having identified the problem, the development team offers options for improving the balance.

According to the publication Venture Beat, this system allowed Kixeye to increase the retention of gamers and monetization in the latest game of the studio War Commander: Rogue Assault twice in comparison with previous titles.

The California studio Kixeye is known as the author of games for mobile platforms and Facebook. The company has released titles such as War Commander, Battle Pirates and Vega Conflict.
