Rockstar has bought Ruffian Games studio, which has been working with the company since last year

Scottish studio Ruffian Games, known for working on Crackdown 2 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, became part of Rockstar. As a result of the takeover and rebranding, the company received a new name — Rockstar Dundee.According to data from the UK Registration Chamber, on October 6, Ruffian Games came under the control of Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games.

She received at least 75% of the shares of the Scottish studio.

Thanks to the deal, Rockstar Games now includes 10 divisions with offices in England, Scotland, the USA, Canada and India.

Last year, Ruffian began recruiting employees to work on Rockstar’s “upcoming projects.” Previously, the studio has already helped the company with the development of titles such as GTA and Manhunt.

Given Rockstar Dundee’s experience working on Halo remasters, The Gamer portal suggested that the company can now deal with updated versions of classic Rockstar games like the first Red Dead Redemption. However, there is no evidence of this.

Rockstar is currently working on a re-release of GTA V for a new generation of consoles and several projects that have not yet been officially announced.
