Sony to Create $10 Million Fund to Support Indies Affected by COVID-19
Japanese giant Sony will support indie developers during the pandemic. The corporation will create a special fund for $10 million. The funds from it will go to help independent studios that are suffering losses due to the coronavirus.
Not much is known about Sony’s initiative yet. According to PlayStation president Jim Ryan, in the future SIE will disclose the terms of financing for indie developers.
This is not the first coronavirus foundation opened by Sony. In early April, the corporation established a $100 million charitable foundation to help medical workers, educational institutions and creators associated with the entertainment industry.
