EA has bought the Israeli office of the gaming streaming service GameFly

Electronic Arts Corporation acquired the Israeli division of GameFly for an undisclosed amount. Under the terms of the deal, EA received technical resources and personnel to maintain the streaming platform.

GameFly provides services for playing in the “cloud” — titles are uploaded to the company’s servers, and the stream of game data is broadcast via a set-top box to the client’s TV.

Access to the GameFly games catalog is by subscription, similar to serial online services like Netflix and Hulu. More than 8 thousand titles are available in the catalog of the service.

“Cloud gaming is a promising territory. We want to give gamers the opportunity to play anywhere and on anything,” said Ken Moss, EA’s chief technology Officer.
