Ganymede Games Team
Wargaming again left key employees to create their own indie studio.

Two former top managers of the “tank” studio, who left at the end of last year, founded Ganymede Games in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

A New Exodus from Wargaming

Here is what is known about the Ganymede manual:

  • The chief executive officer and co—founder of Ganymede Games is Jerry Prochazka. In 2012-2015, he was the HR director at Riot Games. Later, he held various positions in Wargaming, including being responsible for publishing third-party games.
  • The Chief Operating Officer and co—founder of Ganymede Games is Lynn Stetson. From 2011 to 2015, she was the main UX (user experience) and senior product manager at Riot Games. She joined Wargaming in 2017 and was responsible for UX in the company’s products.

Prokhazka and Stetson also recruited Rob Thompson, another native of Riot and Wargaming, to work at Ganymede Games. Now he is responsible for the personnel and publishing of games at Ganymede, combining this position with the role of marketing director at Cackleberry Games. Prior to that, he worked for two years as a production producer at Wargaming, reports Gamesindustry.biz .

Apparently, there is a high turnover of personnel in Wargaming, because a similar situation occurred in November. At least five employees left the company and together created the Redhill Games studio.

What is known about Ganymede Games

The creators of Ganymede did not choose New Mexico for nothing. The state administration promised the studio financial support. She is compensated for 25% of the costs of developing games according to local tax legislation. She will also receive $350,000 under the state’s economic development program. The construction of the headquarters will cost Ganymede $1.3 million.

Management wants to hire about 50 employees in the next five years. It is not known exactly what games the Ganymede team will develop. But, judging by the vacancies on the official website, the studio plans to have a game project on Unreal Engine 4.
