CD Projekt reported a 4.3% increase in its first-half profit, reaching $121 million

CD Projekt reported its financial performance for the first six months of 2025, with sales revenue climbing by 4.3% to PLN 443 million ($121 million). Despite this, the company's net profit fell by 7.7%, decreasing from PLN 170 million ($46.5 million) in the first half of 2024 to PLN 155 million ($42.4 million).

The increase in revenue was largely driven by robust sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, along with significant sales from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Notably, The Witcher 3, a decade post-release, surpassed 60 million units sold, while Phantom Liberty achieved sales of 10 million copies within two years.

CD Projekt's CFO, Piotr Nielubowicz, highlighted the continuing dominance of Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion as major revenue sources. He also mentioned that the company has increased development spending, surpassing PLN 240 million ($65 million) in the first half of the year on future projects.

The introduction of Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion on the Nintendo Switch 2 further boosted sales during this timeframe. The company reported that 75.4% of unit sales were physical copies, while digital sales made up 24.6%.

For the Switch 2 version, CD Projekt opted to use a 64GB cartridge instead of a Game Key Card to enhance the "plug and play experience," according to Jan Rosner, VP of business development. He emphasized the enduring importance of physical retail, especially for Nintendo products, and how fans appreciate well-done physical editions.

CD Projekt also provided updates on staffing levels, revealing growth to 799 developers by July 2025, up from the 730 in April 2024. The Witcher 4 saw an increase in developers to 444, while those working on Cyberpunk 2 rose to 116. Overall, the company's workforce expanded by 8.6% to 1,248 employees by mid-2025.
