CD Projekt's stock price has fallen by 43% since the release of Cyberpunk 2077

Immediately after the opening of the exchange this morning, CD Projekt quotes experienced another drop. They fell to March values when it became known that the studio would start developing a new “Witcher” only after the release of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077

This morning, CD Projekt’s share price was ‘zł265 ($72.49). This is 43% less than it stood on December 7 — before the release of Cyberpunk 2077. It is also 18% less than what was given per share at the closing of the stock market on Friday evening.

Dynamics of the company’s share price over the past five days
After the historical peak reached last week at zł464.2 ($125.5), the shares are seriously collapsing for the third time.

Recall that on Tuesday they fell after the appearance of the first reviews of the game (the estimates were high, but lower than expected by analysts). The second drop occurred on Friday, when information spread online that the game had performance and graphics problems on the basic versions of PS4 and Xbox One.

The current collapse can be attributed to two factors at once: the very low user ratings of Cyberpunk 2077 on Metacritic (the score dropped to two out of ten for the PS4 and Xbox One versions over the weekend) and CD Projekt’s willingness to take up refands (although the company is ready to refund money for the game only until December 21).

In fairness: at the time of writing, the value of CD Projekt securities is growing again. However, it is unclear how soon it will return to its previous indicators.
