Ubisoft has released an open source tool for Blender
Access to Mixer from Ubisoft Animation Studio has appeared on the GitHub portal. This is a free real-time collaboration tool for the 3D Blender editor.
With Mixer, multiple users can simultaneously work on the same scene. The tool allows teams to set up a broadcast server where these scenes are uploaded, and to which individual users connect via IP.
Users can create separate “rooms” to work on joint projects on the server. However, the contents of the “room” are deleted when all the participants leave it. To save data, you need to make backups or leave the “rooms” open even if there is no one there.
At the moment, this is the alpha version of the project. It is not reported when the tool will be fully ready.
