Unity has bought the ProBuilder level editor
Unity Technologies has acquired the ProBuilder tool. ProBuilder is designed to create levels on the Unity engine. The tool was included in the official Unity development kit.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. Under the terms of the agreement, ProBuilder creators Gabriel Williams and Karl Henkel joined the Unity team.
ProBuilder allows you to build levels on the Unity engine, first of all it is focused on the rapid assembly of prototypes of future virtual spaces.
Together with ProBuilder, the Unity toolkit includes the Polybrush texture editor and the ProGrids function, which creates a coordinate grid for easier and more accurate level creation.
The innovations will be available to users of all Unity subscription plans, including a free personal plan. The tools are already available in the Unity Asset Store and will be implemented into the engine in future updates.
