The offline WN Conference has started in Shanghai. It has already been visited by more than 600 people
The May WN Conference has started. She is special for a number of reasons. One of the main ones: its organizers are holding a conference in reality for the first time after the world lockdown, and this is the first Chinese event of WN Media Group.
Today, on May 13, the first day of WN Shanghai’21 was held in China. This is an offline conference organized by WN Media Group.
For the company, the Shanghai event was the first offline event after the global lockdown. Before that, the last time in reality the conference was held in January 2020 in Amsterdam.
Then — because of the epidemic raging in the world – WN Media Group organized exceptional online events. In total, the company held several dozen events. They are all united by the main direction of the company — the gaming industry.
Also, WN Shanghai’21 is the company’s first event held in China and focused, among other things, on the local community of publishers and developers.
“China is one of the largest gaming markets and the birthplace of many leading gaming companies. It is fundamentally important to be present here. This is in line with our global development strategy,” he said in a comment for App2Top.ru Pavel Ryakkonen, Founder and CEO of WN Media Group.
The organizers of the conference say that their plans were not just to make their debut, but to fully enter and gain a foothold in the Celestial market. Based on the preliminary results, they did it.
At the end of the first day, more than 600 participants attended the conference. Almost all are representatives of Chinese companies. Among the guests are employees of Tencent Timi Studio, NetEase Games, Cocos and many other companies.
Another important achievement of WN Shanghai’21 is that it was launched remotely. It is impossible to fly to China from Russia now, so the organization of the event was managed online.
“Absolutely everything had to be organized and supervised remotely, including the construction, the party and the search for partners, which were eventually performed by IMGA China and Westward Gaming Ventures. We even hired — also online — Chinese employees who helped launch WN exactly as we launched it earlier in Russia and in Europe,” notes Yulia Lebedeva, partner and COO of the company.
The Shanghai Conference, which will be held tomorrow, May 14, completes a large-scale hybrid event WN Conference China. It has been running since April 26. In fact, the events complement each other. The participants of the events had access to a common pool of lectures, guests, showcases. Moreover, a person who bought a ticket to WN Shanghai Offline could use the full functionality of WN China Online. As for the visitor to WN China Online, he had the opportunity to visit WN Shanghai Offline online.
“It’s a good start. We will do more,” Lebedeva sums up both events. “It’s a win-win story. Chinese companies are interested in opportunities abroad, and everyone else is interested in the Chinese market.”
